Taking you to the design, the MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE is pretty dope when looks are considered. The board is all made in stealth black with splashes of chrome here and there. Most of the components are backed by large heatsinks. What is more eye-catchy is the chipset cooler and the heatsink covering it. It has the MSI’s dragon logo glowing in uber-cool RGB lighting.

Coming down, you will find a small monochrome LED panel sitting beside the DIMM slots. The purpose of this screen is to display some basic system information while playing cool animated GIFs featuring MSI’s dragon mascot. What’s even cooler is that the display panel is customizable with a 256-by-64-pixel image or GIF file of your choice. Sitting on the I/O shroud is the infinity mirror that creates the optical illusion of an LED-lit bottomless pit. All of these matters only if you are opting for a transparent acrylic case.

Its power capabilities are enormous with a large 14+4+1 phase power regulation system backed by beefy heatsinks and a long liquid-filled heat pipe. The pipe from the VRM heatsink extends and connects to the motherboard’s chipset as it features a large fan, this can be effective in keeping the thermals lower. As the board features a super solid power solution, overclocking your processor shouldn’t be a hassle. DDR4 memory overclocking up to 5,000 MHz is officially supported by this board.

The rear panel boasts pretty decent connectivity options with USB Type-A ports that include both the USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 protocols. You can still find the PS/2 slot for connecting your legacy keyboard or mouse. Surprisingly, the headphone jack on the rear I/O panel is of a 6.3mm one which is a larger version of the traditional 3.5mm jack. However, you are getting a 6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter bundled in the box.

Like most other premium motherboards in the market, the MSI MEG GODLIKE X570 motherboard also features dual-NIC with one of them supporting up to 2.5Gbps while the other is an old school Gigabit Ethernet. Besides these, you will also get a 10Gbps Super LAN PCI Express card bundled in the box which also features a built-in Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 chipset to achieve wireless speeds up to 2.4Gbps.

Speaking of the storage, this MOBO boasts a total of six SATA III ports with a maximum data transfer rate up to 6Gb/s. It also has three M.2 slots. However, you can expand the M.2 slots using the bundled M.2 Expander-Z Gen 4 card. There is a total of eight fan headers on the board with each of them having support up to 2A of output current. All of them offer PWM/DC mode of operation. Besides these, there is a provision for connecting two temperature sensors and a noise sensor. There are two reinforced CPU 8-pin power connectors but you will only need to connect power to one of them.

The rear I/O panel hosts plenty of ports that includes two USB 3.0, four USB 2.0, 1 USB Type-C, five USB 3.1 (10Gbps) type-A ports, 10G Ethernet port, 1G Ethernet Port, 7.1 gold plated audio output with S/PDIF out, a Q-Flash plus button and a provision for connecting the WiFi antenna.

However, using PCIe M.2 drive in the bottommost slot will disable the SATA 4 and 5 ports.

That brings us to the SATA section of the board. It has a total of six SATA III 6Gb/s ports which are directly connected to the chipset. The board also has a POST code display to easily identify hardware errors while booting up. #4. MSI MEG X570 Unify – Best X570 high-end motherboard

The MSI MEG X570 Unify is designed keeping the minimalists in mind. It is shipped with absolutely no RGB LED lighting onboard

There are people who love those fancy RGB lighting in their builds then there are a few who love to keep their build minimal. The MSI MEG X570 Unify is built keeping the minimalists in mind. There is absolutely no RGB LED lighting on this board. However, the board still boasts a pretty dope appearance with its stylish and bold all-black finish.

The board is built on a sapphire black PCB with an ATX form factor. For the first impression, the board feels extremely premium that really consolidates the non-RGB aesthetic. It feels rather busy with components, heatsinks and shrouds running all around.

BrandMSI
SocketAM4
ChipsetAMD® X570 Chipset
M.2 Slots3
Rating4.3/5

When it comes to the most important aspect of any motherboard, the MSI MEG Unify X570 MOBO features a 13+1 phased PWM VRM with Titanium CHoke II caps and DrMOS MosFET control that are capable of delivering solid power. This makes overclocking a cakewalk on this board. Covering the VRMs is a huge Twin Frozr heatsink that ensures optimum cooling at all scenarios.

Speaking of the chipset, it features the AMD X570 chipset. As the X570 is quite a bit more power-hungry compared to the previous X470, MSI has incorporated an active cooler on the chipset heatsink to meet the cooling demand. The cooler can be quite noisy at full throttle. However, you can steer it to a quieter level manually to bring the noise to an acceptable level.

Using more than a single GPU isn’t a hassle with the included three PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 sockets that can run at x16, x8/x8 or x8/x8/x4. On the other hand, you are getting four Dual Channel DDR4 DIMM slots with a maximum support up to 128GB that can run at a maximum clock frequency of 4,600 MHz

Coming to the storage, the MSI MEG Unify X570 motherboard boasts three lightning M.2 slots with support for the latest PCIe Gen 4 technology. There is a total of four SATA III ports with a maximum data transfer rate of 6Gb/s.

When it comes to audio, the board uses the Realtek’s ALC1220 audio codec combined with a 600-ohm amplifier to give an immersive audio experience to its users. With a notion to eliminate the electrical interference, the audio channels are isolated on the PCB from other components.

As far as the networking is concerned, MSI had incorporated a Realtek 2.5 Gbps LAN controller which is cool. However, there is no onboard support for Wi-Fi which is a disappointment considering the price you are paying. Nevertheless, MSI has taken care of other features like debugging LED, onboard power and reset button etcetera

The MSI MEG X570 Unify isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It is built for those who wish to enjoy killer performance while compromising on the RGB lighting capabilities. The chipset is what determines and limits the number of high-speed components or USB devices that your motherboard supports.

CPU Socket –

The CPU socket is the physical place on your motherboard where your processor sits in comfortably. Different motherboards have different types of sockets. It is important to check what socket your CPU fits in before choosing a motherboard.
